Story: Angie's Vacation From Stardom (part 3)

Angie's Vacation From Stardom
Part 3

By Tcheser

Now than Angie had eaten, rested and was now clean and dressed, Martha decided it was time to have a serious talk with the mysterious girl. She led Angie into the charming little living room of her apartment and sat her down on the sofa next to her. “Alright, Angie, I’m a generous person and a good Christian, but if I am going to help you there are some things that I need to know. Do you understand? Can I ask you a few questions?”

Angie wasn’t sure where this was going and just replied “Okay.”

Pleased that Angie was cooperating Martha smiled “First, where are you from? You don’t look like you have been on the streets long. Are you running away from home? Is there someone who is missing you?”

Thinking quickly Angie gave Martha details from a character she had played in a made for TV movie that never saw the light of day. “No, no one is looking for me. My mother raised me by herself and she recently had a mental breakdown and had to be put into an institution. The state found me a foster home but it was horrible so I told them I was leaving, but they could keep the state stipend if they didn’t report me missing.”

Martha just shook her head at the sad story. Angie wasn’t sure if she was being believed or not. “How long ago was that? How have you been surviving?” Martha asked.

Story: Angie's Vacation From Stardom (part 2)

Angie's Vacation From Stardom
Part 2

By Tcheser

By the next afternoon Angie had given up thinking that she was on an adventure. The pampered celebrity who was used to only the finer things was miserable and about to give up no matter how humiliating it would be for her.

She had hardly slept a wink the previous night. Unable to get even a cheap hotel room as she had no money after being robbed, she was forced to sleep outside. Inexperienced in such things she didn't know where she could lay down and was continually rousted by patrolman, sketchy types, and other vagrants. She ended up walking around all night and come dawn she went to the park and slept on the grass pretending to just be someone out enjoying the day. That wasn’t so bad, but then she started to get hungry. She wasn’t used to missing meals and by that afternoon she had missed two.

Walking down the street she practically drooled looking in the windows of all the restaurants and eateries. Before today she could have gone into any one of them and ordered whatever she wanted and probably gotten it for free because of her celebrity status. Today though she was a nobody and without money she couldn’t even get a crust of bread. She needed to get some money she realized or she would starve.

Story: Angie's Vacation From Stardom (Part 1)

ANGIE'S VACATION FROM STARDOM
Part 1

By Tcheser

Angie was what the press called a celebrity. It wasn't exactly the same as being called a talented, award winning performer, her dream once upon a time, but the money was nearly as good and with that she was able to live a lifestyle most people could only dream of attaining. She had homes in half a dozen cities, a yacht, beautiful designer clothes, entrance to any club or events she wanted to attend and a line of men around the block. All this and she was still just 24 years old.

Unfortunately being a celebrity was also very draining. Everywhere she went she was recognized and swarmed by fans. They wanted to say hello, bask in her radiance, get a glimpse of the person they had seen on TV and in all the magazines. They got annoying quickly, but she could deal with them. Then there were the crazies, the obsessive fans, weirdos, perverts and stalkers. They wanted to creep her out at the least and at the worst they wanted to do unspeakable things to her. Because of them she couldn't go out by herself and was forced by her agent and insurance company to hire a private security detail to escort her wherever she went. She couldn’t even go across the street for crying out loud. More often than not she felt like a prisoner in her lavish penthouse. A singing bird in a gilded cage.

One day she had finally had enough. She decided that for the sake of her own sanity, that she was going to take a break from it all.

Animations

Awhile back I created a number of simple animated stories on a site called Goanimate.com. I looked through them again recently and decided that others might be interested in viewing them so I have made them all public. Take a look.

More Comic Strips

I have added a few new comic strips to my account at Bitstrips. Take a look. One is based on a Leamus story called "Rita's Department Store Adventure" and another is just something I whipped up based on an idea I had a while back and is called "To Be Young Again". Enjoy!

My strips can be found here: Tcheser's Comic Strips
